Hip Hop Hilary is 87yrs old and wanted to try something new. She was blown away with how much she loved Hip Hop, how inclusive it is, and how she now feels part of the STF Family. Globally, people have been so inspired by her journey with us, and our Toby G has loved spending time mentoring Hilary and watching her shine!

Find out how Hilary, who had never tried any type of street dancing before, became the UK's Great Grandmother of Hip Hop through Street Factory and Toby G's mentorship... #NeverTooOld

17-YEAR-OLD OLLIE, WHO IS AUTISTIC,  HAS HIS LIFE TRANSFORMED THROUGH HIP HOP

2.png

Poppin Ollie V started Street factory 4 years ago, and at that time he felt alone, misunderstood, and had low self-esteem, which was due to daily bullying, and his peers not understanding his autism. Once Ollie worked with Toby G, he discovered his genius, which is Poppin, one of our street dancing styles we teach at Street Factory. It was fantastic to see the light back in his eyes, and his head held up high.

Since joining us, Ollie has performed locally, nationally, taking part in interviews for ITV & BBC, and shortlisted for an Autism Hero Award, where Our Toby G won the Autism Hero award for his mentorship with Ollie, in London. Check out his videos to be #Inspired.

"When Ollie first started Street Factory he was a lost boy, having autism, being misunderstood at secondary school, and bullied because he was different. Ollie lacked confidence and believed he was a failure, he started withdrawing from family life and was so unhappy.

Toby worked with Ollie through dance and mentoring him via the Cre8ting Change programme. Ollie's autism creates communication barriers for him but the weekly sessions have helped him grow in confidence being amongst others in the group, listening to how they have overcome their own battles.

There used to be a time I would worry for ollie's future, but not anymore he is growing in confidence daily, now attending college 3 days a week which is a massive step forward after being out of education for 4yrs. I'm so proud of how far Ollie has come, the battles he has had to face and I'm excited to see what happens next for him.
