Jade Ward is a PhD research candidate at the Centre for Dance Research, Coventry University. The project aims to clarify concepts of ‘dance’, 'community’, and ‘support’ within the UK arts and mental health sectors and advance dance for health research. The project focuses on the specific Hip Hop dance and cultural practices at Street Factory CIC and will explore their unique ‘Gorniak Method’ in the context of transformative dance practices that promote positive mental health, wellbeing, and active citizenship, during and post COVID 19 pandemic.
